Where is NPA located and how can I contact the faculty?
NPA is located at 251 and 285 Bayside Road, Arcata, CA 95521. Our phone number is707-822-0861, and our fax number is 707-822-0878. The building at 251 Bayside is the Masonic Lodge, which we rent for day use. The lodge is surrounded by redwoods and has a view of Humboldt Bay in the back. Next door at 285 Bayside is the “Annex.”
What are the particulars of enrolling?

How is NPA different from a mainstream high school?
The classes are interactive and comfortable. The largest classes have 23 students. In many classes, the student to teacher ratio is much lower. The curriculum is academically rigorous. Nearly all students go to four-year colleges or specialized programs in the arts. Teachers encourage their students to excel in academics, and to experience other cultures through travel with the school.
What is an International Baccalaureate school?
The International Baccalaureate (I.B.) is a two-year pre-college course of study culminating in an IB Diploma. IB students have much harder classes but the curriculum is well-rounded and international. It is similar to AP in that receiving high test scores rewards the students with college credit (how many depends on the college).
